Ex-Nigerian International and Star Football brand ambassador, Austin ’Jay Jay’ Okocha, has joined football legends, Ryan Giggs and John Barnes to analyse football matches in the on-going quadrennial football competition holding in Brazil. Particularly enthralling was the fact that he was invited alongside other players who have attained legendary status, to give in-depth analysis on one of the most important games – the opening match of the Football Mundial.
Other ex-footballers invited to give their insights were Shaun Bartlett and Samuel Kuffour. The programme was moderated by popular football sports journalist, John Dykes.
Ryan Giggs is currently the Assistant Manager at Manchester United after playing for so many years for the club; while John Barnes is a former England player. While Shaun Bartlett, an ex-South African international, retired from active football in 2009; Samuel Kuffour is an-ex Ghanaian footballer who retired from his country’s national team in 2006.
Okocha, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most gifted footballers retired from active football in 2008.
Asides watching the matches, millions of passionate football fans were also treated to in-depth commentaries from footballers during match breaks.
Okocha had earlier announced on his Twitter page that he would be on the Supersports channel to comment on his match observations. He tweeted: “I will be in SA on Supersports for analysis. Please do interact with me for updates and opinions. ”
