Diamond Bank Plc, Nigeria’s leading retail bank, has highlighted the importance of using information technology in running thriving businesses even as it demonstrated its commitment to provide adequate support for female entrepreneurs.
At the recently held Diamond BusinessXpress seminar, Executive Director, Lagos Businesses -Mr. Victor Ezenwoko, told participants that Diamond Bank boasts of a range of electronic banking channels designed to help its customers reduce cost of transactions as well as run efficient businesses. Some of the e-channels include the Diamond Mobile App, Diamond Pay, Diamond RTGS amongst others. Mr. Ezenwoko enjoined the seminar participants to use the e-channels to increase the profitability of their businesses.
Mr. Abasiama Idaresit, CEO of Wild Fusion Digital Centre, who was one of the resource persons at the event, said that with the knowledge of Information Technology, any business can move beyond boundaries no matter how small it is. According to him, there are many benefits in the use of the internet which includes flexibility of work environments, training, marketing, wide reach, cost effectiveness and many more. He stressed that MSMEs should identify their audience and take advantage of the social media to market their products to their target audience.
Another speaker at the occasion, Mr. Adedipo Olagbegi, MD/CCE of Delphi, encouraged MSMEs to always study their customers so as to know the changing market conditions. According to him, “Knowing market trend enables you to find the right solutions to any marketing problems online”. He stressed further that it is faster and less expensive to conduct direct marketing campaigns with an email campaign or online newsletter compared to traditional printing and direct-mail costs.
Diamond Bank also seized the occasion to launch its Diamond Woman Three for Free scheme. Under this scheme, the bank will allow groups of three female entrepreneurs to attend its monthly BusinessXpress seminars free of charge. This scheme, according to the Bank officials is a further demonstration of the Bank’s devotion to provide dedicated services and propositions to women.
