Star Sends Forth ‘Trip To Brazil’ Winners

Star lager, Nigeria’s favourite beer, last week fulfilled its promise to take 11 lucky Nigerian Consumers to Brazil. It was all smiles as the brand held a ceremony to bid the winners of its Trip To Brazil consumer promotion farewell, as they embarked on an all-expense paid vacation to the South American country.

While in Brazil, the consumers will be taken on tour of landmark sites and exotic locations. The winners are: Udoh Emmanuel Effiong, Timothy Victor, Nora Mba, Samson Emegbhara, Segun Apata, Chidiebere Ningwe, Agaku Kelvin Terkaa, Zakky Onyebuchi, James Maxwell, Sunday Dike and Ogbo Tobechukwu Chukwuma

In his congratulatory message to the lucky consumers, Victor Famuyibo, Human Resources Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc. described Brazil as a beautiful country and urged them to enjoy their stay in the land of Samba. He said: “Brazil is the land of fun. I believe the Amazon Jungle is located in that country. It is a country which has endless beaches. It is a multi-cultural society and I can say that Star and Brazil have a lot in common.”

Famuyibo told the Brazil-bound Star consumers to see themselves as ambassadors of the Star brand and Nigerian Breweries and portray themselves positively during their two-week stay.

He counselled: “As you go to Brazil, on proceed on this period of fun, I ask you to be very good ambassadors of Star, your favourite beer; I ask you to be good ambassadors of Nigerian Breweries Plc., because Nigerian Breweries is a company that stands for very high values; and I ask you lastly to be good ambassadors of Nigeria. But then above all, I ask you to have fun. I urge you to enjoy it thoroughly. I hope to see you when you are back in two weeks.”

The Human Resources Director described Star as a household name brand that possesses the virtue and values that Nigerians cherish.

In an earlier speech, Kufre Ekanem, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc., noted that the public presentation of the winners mirrors Star as a brand that fulfils its promises.

He stated: “Recently Star conducted the Win-A-Trip-To-Brazil Promo with a promise to reward our consumers and customers alike with an all-expense paid trip to the beautiful land of Brazil. Today is another proof that When STAR promises, STAR delivers.”

Ekanem revealed that the Star brand was planning consumer engagement schemes to reward consumers that did not win any of the 11 tickets to Brazil.

For many of the winners, the trip to Brazil would be the first time they have stepped outside the shores of Nigeria. Udoh Emmanuel, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, was overly excited. He believes that the Brazil escapade trip will be the harbinger of other trips outside the shores of Nigeria.

Timothy Victor, a 42 year-old mechanic expects to have fun and explore Brazil during his stay. Sunday Dike thanked Star for making possible what he once considered impossible.

Agaku Kelvin Terkaa said he was looking forward to meeting new people and exploring business opportunities.

The raffle draws for the Star ‘Win A Trip To Brazil’ promo were held in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Enugu, Owerri, Onitsha, Makurdi, Aba and Awka. Asides the grand prize, consumers won other exotic gifts such as TV sets, generators, home theatres and so on. The consumer promo which commenced on March 1, ended on March 16.
