AM Facilities MD To Speak At Asset Summit Africa

Engr. Femi Akintunde, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Mead Facilities & Management Services Ltd (AM Facilities), will be speaking at the 3rd Annual Infrastructure Asset Summit Africa, scheduled to hold from 31st March to 1st April, 2014, at the Eko Hotel & Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Summit, which has as its theme: “Reduce Cost, Improve Safety & Increase Profitability Through Effective Asset Management & Maintenance”, will be taking place for the first time on African soil along with a two-day workshop.

The aim of the Summit is to provide a forum for over 150 decision makers and senior professionals from different parts of the world to discuss the various aspects of Asset Management and Maintenance, with a view to offering insights on Maintenance Planning, driving down Operating Expenses (OPEX) and increasing profitability through the adoption of best practices in Asset Management.

Participants will gain insight into ways of effectively improving and implementing successful asset management for critical business assets, which will eventually lead to increased asset performance, lower costs and lower risks. They will also understand the different management and technical tools applicable for different sectors.

According to Engr. Akintunde, who will be speaking on “Trends in Facilities Management Outsourcing in Nigeria” on the 31st of March and “The Maintenance Culture: The Role of Regulation and Legistlation” on 1st of April, 2014:“This platform is an opportunity for me to address some of the inherent oportunities and benefits of outsourcing facility management functions in a fast-paced economy like Nigeria’s. The opportunity of networking with CEOs of leading facilities management companies from other countries will also provide a useful peer review mechanism that could help in raising practise standards in the country’s facility management industry.”

Akintunde, recently awarded, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year, emerging category, by Ernst & Young is an Industrial Engineering graduate with a Masters degree in Engineering Management. He is an accomplished engineer and business management professional with strong entrepreneurial drive.

He is also a registered and accomplished member of many professional organizations, including COREN, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
