The Situation
InterswitchSPAK is one of Interswitch’s CSR initiatives which it executes through its special purpose vehicle-Interswitch Foundation.
With the belief that Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses will be the drivers for future growth and continental economic development, the InterswitchSPAK was designed to promote and reward the study of STEM among secondary school students across the continent.
The Brief
Our task was to amplify the importance of the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition, encouraging students in Senior Secondary Schools across Nigeria to participate in the competition.
The Execution
Every stage of the competition was creatively amplified with multi-angled press releases, blog posts, feature articles, interviews, opinion editorials and social media posts and videos across print, online, electronic and social media.
Media Outputs
Stories and snippets from the competition have featured across online, electronic and print media platforms, with major platforms publishing stories from the show, thereby creating ripple effects in terms of increased earned media mentioned from other platforms.
Outcomes
The first season of the competition held in 2018. It was a huge success and consequently, the show was replicated in East Africa. So far, there have been three seasons in Nigeria, and two seasons in Kenya.
Results
More schools and students have shown interest in the qualifying examinations. Through this, we have been able to analyse the results of participants on parameters such as gender, region, and number of schools and students.
