Mr. Babatunde M. T. Sadiku has assumed office as the Acting Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
He takes over from Dr. Mohammed K. Santuraki, the former MD, whose tenure in office expired on September 26, 2014.
Mr. Sadiku was, until his appointment, the Executive Director, Finance & Risk Management, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria on the Board of BOA.
Mr. Sadiku holds a Masters Degree, Banking & Finance, obtained in 1993, from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and the Chartered Institute of Credit Administrators. His working career started at Nigeria Law Commission and Federal Ministry of Finance in 1983 following which he joined CBN in 1986 as Assistant Manager. He worked for many years and rose to the position of Deputy Director & Head, Sundry Payments Office in the Finance Department and was subsequently seconded to BOA in June, 2012, as Executive Director, Branch Management.
The Bank of Agriculture, with Headquarters in Kaduna, is Nigeria’s leading Agricultural Development Bank, formerly known as the Nigerian Agricultural Co-operative and Rural Development Bank (NACRDB). The Bank assumed a new name following a corporate re-branding and re-positioning exercise in 2010.
BOA has as its core mandate, the promotion of economic empowerment of Nigerians and the development of Nigeria’s rural communities, by supporting Agriculture and Agro-allied, Small and Medium-scale enterprises. The Bank has been in existence for over 4 decades, and has a branch network that covers all six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
