Stanbic IBTC sponsors September 2026 NSACC breakfast session

Stanbic IBTC, a member of Standard Bank Group, has partnered with the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) to hold its September 2026 Breakfast Forum, which took place in Lagos recently. Themed ‘Driving Nigeria’s Next Growth Chapter’, the forum convened past presidents of the Chamber, Council and Board members, industry leaders, business experts, stakeholders, and entrepreneurs to discuss financial security and long-term savings as foundations for national growth.

The partnership underscores the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance lives and reinforces its role as a catalyst for sustainable development. Through efforts like this, Stanbic IBTC aims to empower both individuals and businesses, promoting financial resilience, which is essential for the nation’s prosperity.

Commenting on the partnership, Eric Fajemisin, Executive Director, Corporate & Transaction Banking, said, “Nigeria’s next phase of growth will require financially resilient individuals, sustainable businesses and stronger collaboration across sectors. By partnering with the NSACC Breakfast Forum, Stanbic IBTC is helping to convene the conversations, insights and partnerships needed to advance these priorities.”

Fajemisin added, “Participants benefit from practical financial guidance and valuable business connections, while the Chamber is further enabled to deliver on its mandate of strengthening bilateral commercial relationships.”

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ijeoma Jidenma, Chairman of the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce, commended Stanbic IBTC for its steadfast support of the Chamber. She remarked, “The Group has been behind the Chamber, doing great things. Its dominance in investment banking, asset management, pension funds, and custodial services is unquestionable. From my personal dealings with them, their business ethics and corporate governance are exemplary.”

John Okhueleigbe, Head of Approved Schemes and Inclusion, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, presented the Personal Pension Plan (PPP), a voluntary retirement savings scheme aligned with the National Pension Commission’s regulatory framework. This initiative aims to broaden pension coverage to self-employed individuals and employees of companies with fewer than three workers, a crucial move in a country where small businesses and the informal sector significantly contribute to the economy.

Business owners and professionals were encouraged to prioritise their financial futures alongside their operations; with emphasis on using PPP as both a retirement tool and a vehicle for instilling financial discipline; steering individuals away from impulsive purchasing decisions.

Also speaking at the event was Adeoya Tope, Manager, Employee Value Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank who noted how growth is fundamentally about people, their livelihood and their future; and with enhanced Employee Value Banking, employers can empower individuals not just through payroll, but by providing the financial independence they need for true wealth creation and security.

Experts at the forum shared insights on investment opportunities and strategic partnerships, emphasising the private sector’s pivotal role in fostering sustainable development across diverse sectors. The interactive sessions gave participants networking opportunities and actionable insights to drive meaningful collaborations for economic growth.

Stanbic IBTC reaffirms its commitment to partnering with businesses and employers to drive financial inclusion, employee well-being, and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
